Rich Burton is the winemaker and one of the two proprietors of Locus Wines. Rich’s story is quite usual: Boy goes to University of Washington (a husky), gets a Finance degree and then a corporate job, and then grows up. Somewhere along the way, he finds his passion (wine). He starts making wine even before getting his Oenology certificate from Washington State University (a cougar, too). Like we said, quite usual.
Ton Yazici is the other proprietor of Locus Wines. He comes from a diverse product management background, with a passion for wine and food. He may be assisting with the marketing and operations for Locus, but he actually has a day job (or two): He is running the Food and Beverage operations at the esteemed Seattle Tennis Club in Madison Park, while also instructing (hospitality, wine, management) at Seattle Culinary Academy and occasionally mourning his reduced involvement in the catering company he founded, ESCA.
