Locus Wines Summer Party: July 15th, 3-7PM in Madrona

Sunshine and Sémillon…. Finally, summer is here. So is the 2016 Locus Sémillon.

Please join us to celebrate the arrival of our annual single vineyard white. We will pour the new 2016 release alongside the 2015 version (it’s always fun to compare) and we may even have a few bottles of the older vintage to sell to wine club members, too.  We are also going to preview the 2015 Locus Nord, the older and slightly more serious cousin to the bright and happy Sud. If you like it, you can purchase futures at a great discount to pick up in November.  As always, we’ll be pouring through most of our current releases (and, most likely, a surprise wine) and pairing everything with delicious bites from Ton’s catering company, ESCA.

RSVP on Facebook (if replying for multiple guests email us at info@locuswines.com).

Invite others. The more the merrier!

Ruth’s Chris, Bardenay, Rupert’s and Boise Co-op Get Locus

PhototasticCollage-2016-06-25-08-41-18‘Gorgeous blueberry, black tea and a hint of nutmeg’ is how Bardenay in Boise describes the 2014 Locus Modo Red, available on their wine list as a featured item these days. How can we disagree?

Also in Boise: The 2014 Locus Sémillon from Dineen Vineyards at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse as well as the 2014 Locus Modo Red at the Boise Co-op.

Outside Boise? No worries. In the beautiful lakeside town of McCall also offers Locus Wines at Rupert’s, arguably the best hotel and best restaurant in town. (If you have never been to McCall, you are missing out. It is beyond beautiful)

Our winemaker Rich Burton, and Idaho son himself, is currently in Idaho doing tastings. Catch him in McCall on Sunday, June 26th at Jug Mountain Ranch Golf Club, pouring the 2015 Locus Rosé with several Washington greats like the Dunham Cellars and Balboa, from 2-5PM.

Locus at Esquin, Blueacre, Tanakasan, Serafina, Fry Art Museum, Joe Bar and More…

Just in time for the summer, a few locations in Seattle (either expanded their offering of or) added Locus Wines:

  • Blueacre wine list currently includes the 2012 Locus Syrah, StoneTree Vineyard
  • Serafina, Tanakasan, Frye Art Museum, Joe Bar, Palace Kitchen, Salted Sea, Hazelwood, Red Cow, Joule are now pouring 2015 Locus Rosé by the glass
  • Central Market Co-op at Shoreline, Madison Central Co-op and European Vine Selections (The Wine Shop) have added the Rosé to their shelves in addition to other Locus selections
  • MKT is now pouring the 2014 Locus Modo Red
  • Leschi Market now carries the 2015 Locus Rosé, in addition to 2014 Locus Modo and the 91WS 2013 Locus Red
  • Esquin in SoDo is carrying the 2013 Locus Red

Locus Wines Summer Party: July 9th, 3-7PM in Madrona

The Summer is (almost) here. So is the 2015 Locus Sémillon.

Please join us to celebrate the arrival of our annual Bordeaux-style white on Saturday, July 9th, 3-7PM at 1515 Madrona Drive, Seattle, WA 98122.

You say “rain in the forecast”? We say, no problem. We got tents and there is plenty room inside to cover us all. Only in Seattle (or southern hempishere) that April event would be held outside at 81 degrees, July one inside at 65.

We will pour the new one and a vertical of the Sémillons of the past, the usual Locus lineup, plus a few summer party-only ones (Hello, light, young and bright 100% Cinsault).

Invite others. More the merrier.

RSVP on Facebook or send us an email if you replying for multiple guests (info@locuswines.com). There are no fees for this kid-free tasting. We define kids as those under 18 and those who act like kids. We only serve wine to adults 21 and older years of age.

We are also going to preview the 2014 Locus Red, our first GSM (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdré blend). If you like it, you can purchase futures at a great discount, for pick up in November or at our Fall Release Party.  It is tasting so well that our resident culinarian Ton is mildly panicked that it may end up becoming a better wine than his ‘baby,’ the 2013 Locus Red – a Syrah Grenache blend. As always, we will pair the wine with delicate bites.  Here is the lineup:

  • 2015 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard
  • 2014 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard
  • 2013 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard (summer party exclusive)
  • 2015 Locus Rosé
  • 2015 Locus Cinsault (summer party exclusive)

  • 2013 Locus Red (Syrah and Grenache blend)
  • 2012 Locus Syrah, StoneTree Vineyard
  • 2013 Locus Syrah, Keller Vineyard
  • 2014 Locus Red (Preview tasting)
