Fall Means Red?

How quickly we switch! Or more like you switch.

As the Fall hints its arrival, the newly released 2017 Locus Modo Red finds itself somewhat of a hot item. As we were saying bakc in August as well, there has been a big demand for it, that we are assuming driven by hoards of winelovers abandoning the whites and the rosés for the red. (Not that there were any 2018 Locus Rosé left anyways. Even the special, wine-club only 2018 Locus Garage Series Rosé is gone. We ran out in July this year.)

This month, you will find 2017 Locus Modo Red at quite a few locations around town in Seattle, wherever you live:

  • Boulevard Grocery (Ravenna)
  • Diane’s Market Kitchen (Downtown)
  • Fresh Fish (Ballard)
  • Ivar’s Pier 54 (Downtown)
  • Northwest Liquor & Wine Seattle (Capitol Hill)
  • Picolinos (Ballard)
  • Pike & Western (Pike Place Market)
  • Rama Deli & Market (Belltown)
  • QFC #891 Ballard (Ballard)
  • Vine Street Market (Belltown)
  • Vino Verite (Columbia City)

Not in Seattle? No problem.

  • A & J Market (Stevenson)
  • Bellevue Brewing Company (Bellevue)
  • Ballinger Village Thriftway (Shoreline)
  • Cafe Luna Vashon (Vashon)
  • Port Gamble General Store (Port Gamble)
  • Uncork & Unwind (Tumwater)

Welcome to fall. Begrudgingly so.

Ivar’s Pier 54 Special Sheet? Yeah, We Got Two Wines On It!

If you are inclined to eat at Ivar’s, one of Seattle’s most famous restaurant destinations, you are bound to see a familiar face (or more like a name) on their specials sheet…. Right on top, in fact. Locus Modo White and Locus Modo Red are two of the three special wines available at Ivar’s right now.

So before you start and share, better order the wines.

Another Summer, Another Party

We had over 100 people come through yesterday and what a day. People drank and ate and had a good time, helping us launch 2018 Locus Modo White, 2017 Sémillon and 2017 Modo Red (a blend that is 70% Merlot). Cantaloupe Gazpacho and Dukkah Shrimp were the winners for the day, with Eggplant Caprese right on their tails.

Thanks to everyone that showed up. Thanks to Seattle Culinary Academy students who worked the event and made it special: Christopher, Michael, Elaina, Devon, Coco and Adj. Even bigger thanks to those who helped us put the event on, our friends and volunteers, Shama, Lindsay, Joy, Josh, Birgit, Carol, Eric and Patrick. Here is a sampler of pics from the party… The bottles, the food (courtesy of ESCA Catering), the flowers (courtesy of Blackhouseflowers), and of course the volunteers.
