Locus Wines Tasting at Boise Whole Foods Market, Wednesday, July 27th, 5-7PM

Whole_Foods_logoPlease join us to celebrate Locus Wines Boise Whole Foods Market debut on Wednesday, July 27th from 2-4PM.

You will get a chance to taste the 2015 Locus Sémillon, our crispy and refreshing white wine, plus the 2014 Locus Modo Red, a Merlot and Malbec blend with a touch of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We call that one a Washington Bordeaux (Syrah in there makes it Washington, get it?)

After making it to the glass pour list on two Bardenay locations and a few retailers (hello Boise Co-op, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, State & Lemp, and, Mc Call’s Rupert’s), we are excited that more people in Boise area will get a chance to sample our wines.

Locus Wines Summer Party: July 9th, 3-7PM in Madrona

The Summer is (almost) here. So is the 2015 Locus Sémillon.

Please join us to celebrate the arrival of our annual Bordeaux-style white on Saturday, July 9th, 3-7PM at 1515 Madrona Drive, Seattle, WA 98122.

You say “rain in the forecast”? We say, no problem. We got tents and there is plenty room inside to cover us all. Only in Seattle (or southern hempishere) that April event would be held outside at 81 degrees, July one inside at 65.

We will pour the new one and a vertical of the Sémillons of the past, the usual Locus lineup, plus a few summer party-only ones (Hello, light, young and bright 100% Cinsault).

Invite others. More the merrier.

RSVP on Facebook or send us an email if you replying for multiple guests (info@locuswines.com). There are no fees for this kid-free tasting. We define kids as those under 18 and those who act like kids. We only serve wine to adults 21 and older years of age.

We are also going to preview the 2014 Locus Red, our first GSM (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdré blend). If you like it, you can purchase futures at a great discount, for pick up in November or at our Fall Release Party.  It is tasting so well that our resident culinarian Ton is mildly panicked that it may end up becoming a better wine than his ‘baby,’ the 2013 Locus Red – a Syrah Grenache blend. As always, we will pair the wine with delicate bites.  Here is the lineup:

  • 2015 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard
  • 2014 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard
  • 2013 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard (summer party exclusive)
  • 2015 Locus Rosé
  • 2015 Locus Cinsault (summer party exclusive)
  • 2014 Locus Modo Red (Merlot and Malbec blend)
  • 2013 Locus Red (Syrah and Grenache blend)
  • 2012 Locus Syrah, StoneTree Vineyard
  • 2013 Locus Syrah, Keller Vineyard
  • 2014 Locus Red (Preview tasting)

Spring Release Rosé Party –> April 9th, 1-6PM in Madrona

To see pictures from this event, click The Gallery.

Locus Rose InvitationThe invitation says it all, we think.

We are going to do a lot of rosés come April 9th, in preparation for upcoming summer season… The weather may or may not be amazing on the day of the event but no matter. We want us all in a summer mood, weather in Seattle be damned.

We will taste through the new vintage Rosés (this year, we have two: one grenache, cinsault and mourvèdre blend and another, served only at this event, a cabernet franc and grenache rosé), the previous Locus Rosés as well as a Rosé from a winery that we really like: Pearl and Stone Wine Co. They will pour their new 2015 Unemployment Beach Rosé along the rest of the wines. And of course, what is a Rosé event if we don’t end it with a red wine? We will pour our 2013 Locus Red in closing. That wine got much applause but most recently, it got 91 points from Wine Spectator. So, a good close to a summer-prep party.

You can RSVP on Facebook or email us at info@locuswines.com.

As usual, we will pair the wines with resident culinarian Ton Yazici creations. And as usual, the tasting is free and open to adults 21 and over.
