Locus Wines Tasting Room: Open Saturday, June 4th, 12-6PM in SoDo

The first weekend means Locus Wines time at Barrique Wines (a retail wine shop and event space, owned by our distributor Barrique Imports), where we turn the place in to the Locus Wines tasting room for the weekend. This happens every first weekend of each month, by the way.

As usual, we will have small bites to accompany the wines. Stop by and taste the Locus lineup. Specifically,

  • 2015 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard (a crisp, dry white)
  • 2015 Locus Rosé (a bone-dry Grenache/Mourvedre/Cinsault blend)
  • 2014 Locus MODO Red (Merlot/Malbec blend, winning hearts & minds around town)
  • 2013 Locus Red (Syrah/Grenache blend that recently got 91 points from Wine Spectator and won GOLD in San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition)
  • 2012 Locus Syrah, StoneTree Vineyard (90 points, Wine Enthusiast)
  • 2013 Locus Syrah, Keller Vineyard

2013 Locus Red: Best of Show at 2016 Minnesota Food and Wine Experience

The 2013 Syrah/Grenache Locus Red blend won best of show at the Minnesota Food and Wine Experience, taking place in Minneapolis on March 5th and 6th at the Target Field. Locus Wines is one of the few wineries represented at the show: Also present are two great wineries:, located right next to the Locus stand: Owen Roe and Walla Walla’s Forgeron. Cougar Crest, 14 Hands, Browne, Chateau St Michelle properties are also pouring in the Washington Wine Pavillion located at the Metropolitan Club room.

The Locus team is pouring a total of six wines at the event:

Winemaker’s Dinner at State & Lemp in Boise on Wednesday, March 16th

59971fdd404093ce987125bc49f4f1ad2016 James Beard award nominee Kris Komori’s food plus Locus Wines equals our inaugural winemaker’s dinner in Boise, ID.

If you are not familiar with State & Lemp, do some research and get on it before you are left behind: The brainchild of Jay Henry and Remi McManus showcases local farmers, ranchers and artists in a contemporary fine dining environment with usually a single seating Wednesdays and Thursdays, and two seatings on weekends.

Winemaker Rich Burton and the Locus GM Ton Yazici will be on hand to talk about the wines and enjoy the phenomenal bites.
