Sunday, Fun day: Locus Wines Tasting at Bottlehouse, Today from 4 to 6PM

Come join Bottlehouse’s month-long program to support local winemakers during the month of March. As they called it, “curated tastings from Washington’s best every Sunday from 4 to 6 PM.” The wines will be there for tasting as well as glass pours and retail specials.

Bottlehouse, a wine bar in the Madrona neighborhood in Seattle, is especially near and dear to our hearts, since they were early supporters of Locus Wines. They have featured  many Locus offerings by the glass and had our rose, Modo red as well as a special red that we had produced only for our keg program (Locus Tank #2) on tap. Not only that, when the Bottlehouse family expanded with Mr. West (downtown Seattle and soon in University Village mall), they featured Locus Wines in some of the new establishments as well.

2015 Locus Red Wins DOUBLE GOLD at 2019 International San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Our proprietary blend does it again and in an even more spectacular manner: The 2015 Locus Red won Double Gold in the Rhone blend category, besting its previous vintage iterations (2013 Locus Red and 2014 Locus Red won Gold in the same competition, in 2016 and 2018, respectively). The international San Francisco Chronicle wine competition is the largest international wine competition in the U.S., receiving more than 6,900 wines for consideration this year alone. Congratulations to us and to all the other wineries that put their heart and soul to these products.

A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Cinsault, 2015 Locus Red is playful, bright with enough heft and tannins that show aging potential. We released the wine at the November 2018 release party. We will celebrate the win once again at the April 2019 Spring party.

Also awarded at this year’s competition is the 2016 Locus Modo Red (SILVER) and soon to be released 2017 Locus Sémillon (SILVER).

A Fun Fall Party on a Beautiful, Sunny Fall Day

A little over 150 people were in attendance at the Locus Wines Fall Party on Saturday, November 17th. The weather was dry and sunny and the people festive. The brand new 2015 Locus Cabernet Franc and 2015 Locus Red were qualified hits and the food hit the mark. Here are a few things you missed out on, unless you were here of course…. These parties do not happen automagically. We rely on our awesome friend-volunteers (Birgit, Carol, Collene, Eric, Josh, Jeanie, Lindsey, Tori) and family (Shama, Scott, Tony). Add an amazing group of select culinarians from Seattle Culinary Academy to serve in the kitchen (Chris, Ell, Fox, Daniel, Coco, Emily and Jack) and only then, magic.

Locus Fall Party: Saturday, November 17th, 2-6PM

Let’s Party Like It’s 2015!!
Nostalgia is in the air at Locus this November. We’re remembering the year 2015 – only three years have gone by, but it feels like a lifetime ago. It was also a fantastic year for wine. We’re excited to introduce not one, but two different reds from that vintage: the 2015 Locus Red and the 2015 Locus Cabernet Franc (yes, we said Cabernet Franc and it is big and bold and very limited in quantities).

As always, we’ll showcase the current line-up of Locus wines, all paired with specially-designed holiday-themed culinary bites from ESCA Catering. (We’ll post the menu here on the website soon… don’t panic). There will also be an exclusive treat in store for our Socius wine club members to enjoy.

Come join us to celebrate the start of the holiday season and the release of two different 2015 reds!
