Locus Wines: Featured Winery at Local 360, Starting October 10th

localcafebarLocal 360 in Belltown is featuring Locus Wines all week this week, starting October 10th. Specifically, you will find these wines on the menu:

  • 2015 Locus Sémillon, Dineen Vineyard
  • 2015 Locus Rosé, Yakima Valley
  • 2014 Locus Modo Red, Columbia Valley
  • 2012 Locus Syrah, StoneTree Vineyard

This is one of the rare opportunities to get more of the StoneTree Syrah since we no longer have it available at retail locations.

rabbit-leg-wideLocal 360 is one of the rare sustainable restaurants in the Northwest. The 360 reference in the name is about sourcing 90% of all raw ingredients come from within 360 miles of Seattle.

The Locus team (Rich Burton, Ton Yazici) will be on hand to hang out/dine on October 11th, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8PM.

New Stores, Restaurants Adding Locus Wines…. September Edition

Joule in Freemont is loving the 2015 Locus Rosé for a few months now but they are not the only ones…. Madison Co-op, Leschi Mart, PCC Natural Markets, DeLaurenti, Grape Choice, Downtown Spirits, Bar Ferdinand, Sitka and Spruce (the latter two in form of private labeled for Bar Ferdinand) and PT Wine Seller (Port Townsend) are also feeling the Rosé love despite the dwindling Rosé season. (We drink Rosé year round, by the way).

As the Rosé season comes to a close, so are the supplies of our Rosé. What started as more than 500 cases are down to less than 35 cases. Sad but also cause for celebration since it means a new Locus Rosé is only 6 months away.

The trio of Costcos that are carrying the wines are still going strong. You can still find the 2015 Locus Sémillon and 2014 Locus Modo Red at Aurora Village, Kirkland and Tukwila Costcos.

Whole Foods also carry the wines but you need to know which wine is available where: In Whole Foods Bellevue, you can find the 2012 Locus Syrah from StoneTree Vineyard. The Whole Foods Westlake and Whole Foods Bellingham prefer to carry the 2014 Locus Modo Red.

Locus Wines Tasting at Revolution Wine: Saturday, September 17th, 6-8PM

img_0581_20151101_editedWe are pouring at Revolution Wine Bar and Shop on Capitol Hill in Seattle this Saturday, September 17th from 6 to 8PM. Revolution Wine is fairly new to the neighborhood and it is a prime location to sample some great wines. They have an amazing selection, both domestic and foreign and they also have a very comfortable space (think stools if you want to keep it business, think giant leather couches if you want to just relax and hang out). Check out their Instagram feed for some ridiculous wine shots.

Come hang out with us or simply get some wine and appetizers to relax before you move on with your Saturday evening.

When?
Saturday, September 17th
6:00 – 8:00pm

All Good Things Must Come to an End: An Obit for Some Good, Good Wine

PhototasticCollage-2016-08-17-18-28-15Three Loci down…. The 2013 Locus Red, 2012 Locus StoneTree Vineyard Syrah as well as 2014 Locus Dineen Vineyard Sémillon are officially gone for good. We should know better than to get attached to something perishable but we couldn’t help it. We loved these wines and while we are happy that we sold out, we are also sad to see them forever gone.

These wines meant the world to us: 2013 Locus Red was critically adored (91 points from Wine Spectator, Best of Show at Minneapolis Food and Wine Experience, Gold at San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition among others) and loved by Locus fans.

2012 Locus StoneTree Vineyard Syrah was our firstborn. Our first release ever. For those who love big and bold Washington Syrahs, it was “the” wine. Four years and many awards later (90 points from Wine Enthusiast, Double Gold from Seattle Wine Awards, 89 points from Wine Spectator), it has finally ridden off to the sunset.

Last but not least, 2014 Locus Sémillon from Dineen Vineyard… Many awards for this one too but too bad it is gone, because as we found out at Locus Wines Summer Party last July, Locus whites get only better and more complex with age.

Thankfully, we still have our other “babies.” 20 or so cases of the exquisite 2013 Locus Keller Vineyard Syrah, plus 2014 Modo Red, 2015 Rosé and the Sémillon…. No consolation though. Knowing we have other good wines still available doesn’t mean that the vanishing of these three hurts any less.

Locus Wines Tasting at Boise Whole Foods Market, Wednesday, July 27th, 5-7PM

Whole_Foods_logoPlease join us to celebrate Locus Wines Boise Whole Foods Market debut on Wednesday, July 27th from 2-4PM.

You will get a chance to taste the 2015 Locus Sémillon, our crispy and refreshing white wine, plus the 2014 Locus Modo Red, a Merlot and Malbec blend with a touch of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We call that one a Washington Bordeaux (Syrah in there makes it Washington, get it?)

After making it to the glass pour list on two Bardenay locations and a few retailers (hello Boise Co-op, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, State & Lemp, and, Mc Call’s Rupert’s), we are excited that more people in Boise area will get a chance to sample our wines.
